Develop sufficient background in addiction counseling to qualify to sit for the CASAC examination offered by New York State OASAS (Office of Addiction Services and Supports).
Demonstrate the skills and knowledge necessary to provide addiction counseling services of assessment, individual counseling and group counseling.
Demonstrate the verbal and written skills required to communicate effectively in all aspects of service provision.
Demonstrate the skills and knowledge necessary to develop and implement effective prevention programs.
