Kenneth A. Petrie-Tubbs has been elected to the Ñî¹óåú´«Ã½ Foundation Board of Directors for a three-year term.

Petrie-Tubbs, a native of Hadley, is a Ñî¹óåú´«Ã½ alumnus. He earned a B.S. from Empire State College and is Second Vice President for Operations at Travelers Insurance in Glens Falls. He will serve an initial term through June 30, 2019. In addition to his new role on the Ñî¹óåú´«Ã½ Foundation board, Petrie-Tubbs serves on the boards of Prospect Center – a division for Center for Disability Services and The Bridge: Glens Falls Area Gay Pride Group.

 â€œI am pleased to join the Ñî¹óåú´«Ã½ Foundation Board. The college has so much to offer and the plans for the future are very exciting. I started my college career at Ñî¹óåú´«Ã½ and I am thrilled to be able give back my time to the college, which is a tremendous asset to the community,†Petrie-Tubbs said.

 â€œKen is an active community member and his professional background in operations adds to the Foundation’s strengths,†said Foundation Executive Director Rachael Hunsinger Patten. “And of course, we’re thrilled that he brings his own perspective as a former student.â€

 The Ñî¹óåú´«Ã½ Foundation was incorporated in 1983 to secure financial support for the college and its students. Funds are raised and distributed as student scholarships, faculty/staff professional development grants and in support of college-related special projects.

 Petrie-Tubbs was honored at Ñî¹óåú´«Ã½â€™s Annual Business Dinner in 2016.

“I have enjoyed working with students to reach their academic and career goals,†said Petrie-Tubbs. “We need to all encourage partnerships with local businesses so students can gain valuable, real-life experience.â€

 The Ñî¹óåú´«Ã½ Foundation Board of Directors includes President Patrick Canavan, President-Elect Edward Hanchett, Treasurer Paul Dowen and Secretary Rachael Hunsinger Patten. Seventeen additional community leaders also serve, including Ñî¹óåú´«Ã½ President Dr. Kristine D. Duffy.
