Bake traditional French peasant bread and transform it into a curated charcuterie experience inspired by the centuries-spanning life of Addie LaRue. As the bread rises and boards come together, students will discuss the book "The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue," tracing how food, memory and survival weave through Addie’s long, unseen existence. This hands-on class blends literary discussion with rustic baking and artful snacking, inviting participants to taste history one bite at a time.
Please note: Students are encouraged to read "The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue" on their own before class, as it will be discussed while cooking. Students must wear closed-toe shoes and a hat. Please bring a kitchen knife; an apron; hair tie or other item to pull up long hair; hand towel; container to bring food home; and writing utensil.
